Altena myths & legends
Sublime and impregnable, Altena Castle has stood on the Wulfsegge for centuries. The ascent was a real feat of strength for horse-drawn carts, foot soldiers and later for many a tourist. Today, the adventure elevator connects the castle with Altena's town centre and is more than just a barrier-free means of transport. This is ensured by Burghard the bat and his virtual friends from the world of legends. They accompany visitors on a magical journey through time through the adventure tunnel before the elevator transports them straight down the 80 meters through the rock into the castle courtyard.
