Altena history and nature trail

The flora and fauna can be wonderfully explored on the history and nature trail opposite the castle. Sculptures, model boards and a tepee round off the experience.

Flora & Fauna

The trail starts opposite Altena Castle and leads to a circular route of the Altena Heights. Information boards explain the local flora and fauna along the approx. 3 km long trail.

History

The history and nature of the region can be explored along the way. Local trees, forest dwellers and the production of charcoal are presented.

Environmental projects
