Adventure Elevator to Burg Altena

For ages Altena Castle has been on the Wulfsegge: noble, fierce and invulnerable. The way up to the castle was a strenuous effort, for horse-drawn carts, rank and file and later for many a tourist. Today the adventure elevator os the connecting element between the castle and Altena's town centre and it is much more than an accessible means of transport. Bat Burghard and its mythological friends accompany the visitors on a magical time travel through the adventure tunnels, before the elevator will take you directly up, covering 80 meteres, through the rocks into the castle yard.

Interactive gates

Visitors pass 6 interactive adventure gates on their way through the 90 metre long tunnel to the elevator.

Edutainment

By using state-of-the-art technology and digital magic tricks, a piece of history is being presented, for the young and old.

Sagas come alive

Mystical sagas about Altena and its surroundings woods come to life in the tunnels and put you in the right mood for the castle.
